Lunch in the Sacred Valley

Sacred Valley continued

It was a sad day as a tree several hundred years old toppled in the recent storm.

This is where we are also shown how to roast guinea pig.

The before version

Serious shopping was had at the Pisac Market!

13,000 foot climb

The local alpaca herd. Did you know that dogs are used to herd the alpaca and that they stop them from running onto roads by grabbing their rope?

The view at the top of the Saqsayhuaman temple ruins.

Amazing views of Cusco.

Tight fit to the caves at Qengo.

Location:Cusco

Serious shopping while discovering the ruins

You can never have too many hats.

The highlight of Heather G's trip. Can you say yarn?

Dents ration from raw fibre to finished product. I never knew that quinoa was used to wash fibre and eat!

So that is how we get the various coloured alpaca yarns.

Can you feel the difference between baby and adult alpaca?

We are in Cusco, Peru

Cusco is such a contrast to Lima.  Traffic is lighter, but still chaotic and the architecture is much more rustic.  Beautiful!

One of the many town squares. I understand that Don and Heather saw them all many times as they attempted to find their way back to our hotel. Did not help that there are many Casa Andina hotels in the town centre.

If you look closely you will see that the women are packing baby sheep. Of course you can photograph for a price.

So many wonderful small streets filled with so many shops and restaurants. The entire core where we are staying is a Unesco Heritage sight.

Heather met her shopping match in Marg. Yeah!
